About the Electronic Police Information Check (ePIC)

CMSA requires all team officials (coach, assistant coach, team manager) listed on CMSA rosters for league play, provincial competitions, tournaments, training, cultural exchange travel and national championships to have a current and valid police clearance to ensure the safest possible environment for youth soccer players. Police clearances are valid for three (3) years.

Application Process

Team officials must be registered with a CMSA Member-Club and assigned to a current team roster to apply for a security clearance and receive a volunteer letter from CMSA. Once your club has placed you on a roster, please complete the following steps to apply for a police clearance and become an eligible coach:

STEP 1: Request a volunteer letter

  • Volunteers listed on a team roster must request a volunteer letter from CMSA before applying online

  • To receive your letter, email scollison@calgaryminorsoccer.com

STEP 2: Apply online

  • After receiving your letter, begin your application online. CLICK HERE and scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Perform Police Information Check"

  • You must apply online within two weeks of receiving your letter

STEP 3: Share your results

  • Once you have received notification from CPS that your application has been processed and completed, you must ‘SHARE’ this information with CMSA through Calgary Police Service’s online system

  • You are not eligible to coach until you have shared the results online with CMSA.
